August 1, 2013 Chelsea FC Tranfer Update

1. Xavi hints at Luiz move:
The ace midfielder has been quoted as saying the Brazilian centre-back thoroughly impressed during the Confederations Cup, and looks to have made him a prime target for the Spanish giants.
tuttomercatoweb reports him as saying: “David Luiz seems to be a better player. In the Confederations Cup he was at a spectacular level.
“It’s impossible to overlook his name.”

It was revealed yesterday that Bayern Munich weren’t interested in trying to lure the 26-year-old to the Bundesliga.
Former boss Pep Guardiola has been linked to wanting to place a bid for Luiz, but recently rejected the claims, telling the press: “He’s not coming to Munich.
“We’ve got four or five central defenders – there is no truth to the speculation.”
Luiz has been heavily linked to a move away from Chelsea, having made 54 appearances so far for the club.
2. Wallace on his way to Inter:
Internazionale are the latest Italian club to express an interest in taking Chelsea‘s teenage full-back Wallace, who is unlikely to be granted a work permit to play in England, on loan for the season.
Chelsea signed the 19-year-old Brazilian from Fluminense in December and allowed him to remain at the club until the end of last season. He featured for his new employers on the recent three-match tour of Asia, impressing in flashes, but José Mourinho conceded that he would have to be loaned to a European club to gain first-team football and, potentially, break into the national set-up.
Chelsea hope to address the work permit issue next summer and, if he has benefited from senior football in a leading division, will argue he should be classed as a “special talent”.
The right-back was not included in the 25-man squad who travelled to the United States on Tuesday for a four-game tour and will join Nathaniel Chalobah, Josh McEachran and Lucas Piazón in securing a season-long deal elsewhere for the new season.
Inter will compete with Roma and Napoli, coached by the former Chelsea manager Rafael Benítez, in pursuit of the youngster with a decision likely over the next few days.
3. Chelsea face tough test in Bruma pursuit:
Chelsea could be scuppered in their bid to prise Bruma from Sporting Lisbon.
The 18-year-old who has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo was the subject of an £8m bid from the Blues earlier this summer.
Turkish giants Galatasaray were also perspective suitors although their interest appears to have cooled as of yet.
However, free spending French giants Paris Saint-Germain are ready to sneak under the radar and scupper Chelsea’s interest.
Reports emanating from Portugal have it that PSG are monitoring his situation and will make a move once his future becomes clearer.
Sporting and Bruma’s representatives have been wrangling over a new contract which has seen talks over his future reach an impasse.
Bruma has expressed his desire to cut his ties with the club, and Sporting could cash in on him.
Manchester City, Inter Milan and Marseille were also tracking Bruma.
4. McEachran to Real Sociedad?:
REAL SOCIEDAD have emerged as a surprise destination for Josh McEachran next season with the Spanish side confident a loan move can be agreed with Chelsea.
McEachran is one of a number of Chelsea youngsters earmarked for spells away from Stamford Bridge next season, but unlike Wallace, who has been linked with Inter, and Lucas Piazon, it was thought that McEachran would remain in England following previously successful loan spells at Middlesbrough and Swansea.
But now reports in Spain suggest that Sociedad could be set to take McEachran overseas.
According to Basque newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Sociedad have turned to McEachran after missing out on their first choice, Jonathan Dos Santos of Barcelona.
A deal for Dos Santos was thought to be close but the arrival of Gerardo Martino at Barcelona has complicated matters, and the new boss singled out the Mexican as a player he wants to remain at the Camp Nou next season.
For Sociedad’s part they are looking to strengthen their midfield having lost Asier Illarramendi to Real Madrid.
Illarramendi helped guide Sociedad to a fourth place finish in La Liga last season which qualified them for this season’s Champions League.
And, from Chelsea’s perspective, it is Sociedad’s ability to offer European experience to McEachran that may give them an advantage over teams in the Championship.
Earlier this summer McEachran told Sky Sports: “I’m a Chelsea player and my dream as a kid was to play for Chelsea, so I want to play for them this season.
“But if the boss wants me to go out on loan I’ll have to listen to him and go out. It’s down to him.
“He said he would speak to me while we were in Asia so I’ll wait for then. Hopefully it would be to a Premier League team, but I wouldn’t mind going to a Championship team either.”
It now looks that McEachran will be heading for neither the Premier League or the Championship.
Instead, the 20-year-old could be gracing the Champions League for Sociedad.
